100 course descriptions available: Keep on sharing!

Three months after the end of the phase 1 of the EDTI project, 100 course descriptions are now available on the EDTI website. This is just a beginning. It will keep on growing. There is a lot of material about design business management and various other topics. You should already be able to find something of interest to you, something that could inspire you or for which you could develop new collaborations.

The objective of this database is not to provide complete content about courses but to share ideas and experience on how expertise can be developed in creative industries. Therefore you have the possibility to review the list freely and openly. To have access to the course descriptions, you just need to register as a member of the EDTI Network (it’s also free of charge! Click here).

Some trainers and teachers or institutions they work for expressed their concerns about Intellectual Property Issues and some reluctance in sharing what they perceive as their major assets. This brings us to the question - what is really your major asset ? Your course description or the way you deliver it to the participants ? Most information included in the ‘Course description database’ is already public - it’s the material you use to promote your courses! So, there should be no reluctance because there is more for you to gain by sharing than to lose by keeping it confidential.

Members of the EDTI network have the opportunity to upload course descriptions and share their experience with peers. In the following weeks, we’ll open a Case Study area to dig into more details about how things go when implementing courses. More to come …
